Deep Silver has sent us the next dribble of tantalizing info about their upcoming, much talked about zombie game, Dead Island. Those of you who have read the title of this post might be thinking, “Decoychunk, don’t tell me that Dead Island is ripping off the Tank from the left for dead series.” Well, I’m happy to say that such is not the case. This is Tank as in “We need somebody to Tank for us”, not Tank as in “TAAAAAAAAANK”. Sam B is a selectable character, at heavy hitting guy who can take a punch. We’ve got some pics of him, both posing for the camera and in action, but they also supplied some back story as well.

A one-hit-wonder rap star of fading fame, Sam B was booked by the Royal Palms Resort Hotel to perform his well known song “Who do You Voodoo?” at a high profile hotel party. He gladly took the chance to play this gig.

Once strong, self-confident and proud, Sam B has had a troubled past and a history of drug and alcohol abuse, as his private life became caught in a haze of fake friends and bad advisors.

Trying to pick up the pieces and earn some extra cash, he suddenly finds himself surrounded by a whole lot of different problems…

I’m liking the fact that they have fleshed out the character, and that we’ll be getting to pick characters to suit our different play styles. But enough of my opinion. Check out the gallery below for the goods.

PS. I just noticed that the I in the Dead Island logo is a corpse hanging from a noose. What does that say about me?

About Decoychunk

Editor, Writer, and general Knower-Of-Words, if there is text to be read on BrainLazy, Joseph Lallo probably has his fingerprints on it. As the final third of the ownership and foundation of BrainLazy, Joseph “Jo” Lallo made a name for himself when he lost the “e” from his nickname in an arm wrestling match with a witch doctor. Residing in the arid lowlands of the American Southwest, Joseph Lallo is a small, herbivorous, rabbit-like creature with the horns of an antelope. He sleeps belly up, and his milk can be used for medicinal purposes. Joseph Lallo is also author of several books, including The Book of Deacon Series, book 1 of which is available for free here.
